"A hidden gem!"
Stayed there recently for a couple nights in the 2 BR villa. had a fantastic experience, friendly and helpful staff. couldn't fault them!October 05,2011 - by syd_mike
a perfect place to unwind in Bali, family friendly and away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta/Seminyak but not isolated. it's halfway between the popular Ubud and Kuta/Seminyak so that was perfect for us.
a generous size 2BR villa, not a shoebox and a pretty descent size pool. beautifully appointed interiors with all the mod cons you'd expect from the star hotel, an outdoor shower & marbled bathroom.
the villa also provides you with a bicycle to venture to the surrounding area and the beach nearby that can be reached in less than 5 minutes. they even have a beach spot reserved exclusively for the villa's guests. awesome!
"A piece of paradise"
Bali is already an absolutely beautiful place, filled with warm people, great food, lovely scenery and wonderful experiences, so it is not without some thought when I say that Mahagiri was even that much more special. There are other private villas but as Mahagiri is new, I think it might have them beat. All of the amenities, materials and even artwork in our villa showed care and design. We had a two bedroom villa for 5 of us (one child sleeping on a bed moved into our master suite - which was very large so it was never in the way). All of the villas have private pools, and kitchen/living areas as well. Each morning we were greeted by a discrete knock (when we had asked for it) of some helpful, smiling staff bringing and making breakfast for us. The rest of the time they would leave us in splendid isolation (which is one of the big pluses of Mahgiri -- it is off of the beaten path, secluded from the rest of the hotels and villas, so one has privacy and peace).August 31,2011 - by bikoparrot ~ Calgary, Ab
Overall Mahagiri was a fantastic place. For us it was not very inexpensive, but you get what you pay fore here. It was the best week of a long vacation through S.E. Asia for us, and one which we shall not forget soon. I would recommend it without reservation. The staff are helpful and warm, the accommodations are top notch, the hospitality is great and the villas themselves a little piece of paradise.
"Really happy about my stay in Mahagiri Villas"
My girlfriend and I have stayed in Villa 4 for 5 night and are very happy about our stay in Mahagiri Villas. Below is the review I'm going to post on the Agoda website.June 11,2011 - by Zhiming Yang ~ Singapore
"Really happy about my stay in Mahagiri Villas, I think I just have to write down something to share my experience with other travelers. While I was searching for Bali hotels before my trip, Mahagiri was brought into my focus because of its outstanding rating and unanimously positive reviews by previous guests. At beginning, I was a bit suspicious, as its rating was unbelievably high and it was only based on 7 votes, but after reading all the comments, I decided to give it a go.
After the complimentary airport transfer, we arrived in the hotel. When the staff openend the door to our villa, my girlfriend and I were amazed by what we saw: a big swimming pool absolutely exceeding our expection. And then our jaws remained dropped while the staff showed us around. The compound is nicely built with Balinese style exterior and modern interior design.
We especially liked the details such as outdoor showers (one is in the backyard of the bedroom and another one in the courtyard by the swimming pool), candles on the bathtub for romance, separate toilet by the swimming pool for convenience and spacious dressing area. The courtyard is also lovely. Trees and plants are all nicely laid out. Together with the gazebo, they created a very relaxing atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Every morning they came to our villa to prepare our breakfast. The hotel is located in a calm area near Sanur beach. We appreciated the bikes provided by the hotel for free, which made the beach, restaurants, bars and other amenities within the reach of a pleasant ride. The staff told us the hotel was open only since December 2010, no wonder why everything in the villa was so new, clean and in good order. In terms of value for money, I think this is definitely a rare opportunity. But I don't know how long it will last. According to my experience, the management of the hotel is likely to adjust the price once it has gained enough reputation.
The only shortcomings are: the lack of variety and flexibility for breakfast compared to traditional buffet breakfast in big hotels. And at the time of our stay, the hotel's restaurant and spa were still under construction. according to the hotel staff, all these were expected to be completed by August 2011. I'm afraid that my comment may sound too good to be true, well, you just have to be there yourself and live it to believe it.
"Sensuous luxury with privacy"
Private swimming pool.May 15,2011 - by Kathryn P. ~ Australia
Mahagiri villas offered us a luxurious standard of accomodation. The bed was the most comfortable that I slept in over our three week trip to Indonesia. The privacy and comfort were unequalled in Bali. We could also walk to the beach from the hotel.
Tip: Beautiful, comfortable, private.
"Amazing villa- Great atmosphere, ambience, service"
Quiet, peaceful, beautiful. Very spacious and well maintained.May 11,2011 - by Neeti I. ~ Singapore
The villas are nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the town. Each villa is very private and very well maintained. The private pool is a very good size and each room is huge. The little gazebo beside the pool was also a nice touch. The outdoor shower really takes the cake- showering while watching the stars stretch out above your head is amazing. The staff come over to your villa to cook the breakfast in front of you every morning, which is a nice touch. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful and accommodating. Only slight negative is that it is a good 10 minute walk to the nearest string of cafes and shops, but that is a small price to pay for all the upsides of this place. Also the breakfast isn't anything very fancy, but it will do. Plus, if you're going to be going out everyday, then you can always eat outside. All in all, the private villa was really like a piece of paradise. We were travelling as a group of friends, and we had an absolutely amazing time those two nights in Mahagiri Villas.
"Fairly new clean villa"
Beautiful place.May 01,2011 - by Satoshi T ~ Japan
In December I made with last year, all new buildings and facilities were clean. 3 minutes walk from the place where the streets of Sanur Kang Tamblyn is inside. Close to shops, so not much yet, I have that contains better to buy what you need in various ways. The staff was one of the few people speak Japanese. VILLA still under construction like, the day was the sound of construction. Ends and in the evening so that it also had to worry too much. Anyway, so new, the way such a beautiful place to stay, I would be impressed.
"Love the design of the villa and the service here"
Everything was at tip top level from the room to the food and the hospitality of the staff. Definitely a come back!April 25,2011 - by Anonymous ~ Booking.com
"Good deal on a very new villa"
I can say Mahagiri is a new property in the area and is within walking distance to the beach (probably about 10min walking). We stayed in 3 rooms - villa. The villa is very nice and modern yet we can still sense the Balinese in the design. First class interior and materials all around the villa. Nice landscaping, surrounding the pool. What is unique for us is that the breakfast is served and cook to order inside the villa and it is free. If I am not mistaken, you can also request one free BBQ cook to order inside the villa too.April 14,2011 - by
Contrary to the spacious villa, I found the lobby area is considerably small. Hospitality is very good. Should you need a taxi, it would be best if you book it in advance, otherwise waiting time is about 10-15 minutes in average.. Overall, our group think it is a good deal.
"Unforgettable Villa Experience!"
My friends and I stay at this villa for 3 nights. The staff provided great service during our stay. We were pleased and surprised about the food they serve is fantastic. The private pool is huge, and the room is very comfortable especially the bed! The location is great, just few minutes away from a local market name 'Pasar Sindhu', and less than 10 minutes walking distance to reach Sindhu Beach where we can catch the sunrise moment in the early morning! My friend and I had an unforgettable trip with the perfect accommodation at Mahagiri Villas, Sanur, and we will definitely going back again!April 14,2011 - by
"Luxury villa with friendly staff"
Friendly staff with great hospitality, good food, strategic location the villas located in the heart of sanur, the famous sindhu beach and local market just in walking distance, not even more than 10 minutes walk. it is very convenient for us to explore around the town of sanur. and we even walk to the beach to catch the beautiful sunrise! besides, the villas are so private and spacious with a fantastic pool, we hardly ever left. the food is brilliant, and we enjoy meeting the staff every morning by havng them to our villa to cook breakfast, together with their warmth smiles. the design of the villa is modern yet not losing the balinese touch. we even order our dinner during our first night stay, and we are surprise they cook in our villa, and the food is first class!April 12,2011 - by Chiew M ~ Malaysia
